American football has die-hard fans packed on barstools and glued to television sets 4 months out of the year. But none are as fired up as ticket-holders with painted faces who tailgate for hours before cheering wildly from the stands. And just once a year, two NFL teams hop the pond to crack helmets in front of sold-out crowds in Europe. It’s a highly anticipated event – and we were psyched to help the world commemorate it.
On October 23, 2011, the NFL’s fifth International Series pitted the Tampa Bay Bucs against the Chicago Bears before a sold-out crowd at Wembley Stadium. Twenty Four 7 created more than 30 original designs to celebrate both teams, the gridiron and the host city. The brand standards were put into play on commemorative game-day gear – from hats and t-shirts, to footballs and helmets, to scarves and key rings.
The Bears won the game. But the gear lives on.
