Nike celebrated 30 years of Air Max on March 26, collaborating with Nordstrom on a series of shop-in-shops honoring the day. NORDSTROM X NIKE tapped Twenty Four 7 to lead the creative process, design all the consumer touch points and then bring the ideas to life in every format. With the city blanketed in snow, the annual TF7 holiday party brought The Night Before Christmas to life. Guests floated off to dreamland in their favorite Christmas pajamas as sugarplum fairies danced, toy soldiers spread cheer and Santa himself heard holiday wishes.
We have a longstanding annual tradition of coming together as a TF7 family for an authentic Thanksgiving meal. This year, we thought we would earn our calories by putting it all on the line in our first annual Turkey Bowl. For the 14th time, TF7 hosted our Annual Chili Cookoff, with special focus this year on the packet of pain, the harbinger of heat, the chili pepper. The winners of our internal cookoff took on family, friends, and clients to determine the best cooks in town.

We’re psyched to announce Gold medal honors from the Association of Retail Environments (ARE) for the AT&T Journey of Innovation – an interactive experience at the retail flagship on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue. The immersive, content-rich environment leveraged multi-media formats from artifacts to cutting-edge technology – earning a second award for outstanding In-Store Communication. TF7 submitted 9 entries to the Northwest Addys and all 9 were awarded gold. High fives and huge thanks. Work ranged from branded content, to event and retail design, to outdoor and interactive ads. TF7 fielded two teams of “Lucky Bucks” at the recent Bowl for Kids’ Sake event, benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters. The annual ten-pin tournament was hosted at Pro 300 Lanes in PDX. There was more swagger than proper form on display, but the result was a a hefty donation to the cause. Overall, more than $170,000 was raised to support local kids.
Before Steven Shaw moved to PDX and joined TF7 as a Design Director, he lived in NYC where he was the Creative Director at Thinc Design and was the lead designer for the National September 11 Memorial Museum. For this year’s annual food fest we raised the stakes by inviting guests to compete against TF7’s best – the winners from our company’s internal cookoff held earlier in the week. We expanded the footprint of the festivities onto the street, where we recreated a trail camp, complete with canvas tent, live music, and a roaring fire pit. All in attendance participated in the tasting and judging. And as always, we honored winners in three categories: Best Chili, Best Side, and Best Dessert.

Formerly LAIKA/house, HouseSpecial is a group of animation experts well-known for designing and developing characters that push brand narratives. New work for Absolut Elyx hit the Vegas strip during CES in January. A digital billboard, 4-panel video wall and bus wraps raised awareness for the single-estate luxury vodka – available at high-end clubs in Sin City. An interactive campaign is also running on Conde Nast websites – pushing to a microsite
This week we launched a new interactive ad campaign for ABSOLUT ELYX - The Singe - Estate Luxury Vodka - on vanityfair.com, style.com, and details.com. Twenty Four 7 welcomes Splash to the Buck Building. These creative collaborators offer seamless content production and technology to manage brand activations in real-time around the world. Their PDX location is the newest – joining New York, LA, London, Amsterdam, Rome, Beijing, Shanghai and Abu Dhabi.

The annual food fest did not disappoint. The largest table in the office was covered in crockpots of spicy, beefy and veggie chili recipes and flanked with coolers of beer. Participants and staff/judges ladled their way through the entries and placed their votes. For the first time in the 12-year history of the event, there was a tie! Matt has big hands. Which means this fish is even bigger than it looks. And unlike many in this hyper-wired world of ours, Matt likes to use his hands the good old fashioned way. We recently updated our office entrance. It’s a mix of new and old as we used reclaimed wood planks from a barn built back in 1917 in the central Oregon coastal region. We like the warmth and texture of the wood – and bringing a bit of the mountain cabin feel down into the city. Twenty Four 7 is a proud supporter of the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA) and for the fourth year in a row, their gala fundraiser, TADA! was held at the Bison Building. It was a packed house on April 23 where a live auction put awesome items up for bid – like sweet seats to the Bruno Mars & Janelle Monáe concert; a week in Paris; and a 4x8 foot art installation by Ruby Sky Stiler.
Ever wonder who creates the custom mannequins that showcase the world’s finest footwear and apparel? It’s these guys. Fusion designs for all the top retailers and they’ve tapped us to design their new website. We’re just getting started.
This is what happens when you have an open bar mere steps from a swimming pool. The e-mail taunts leading up to the TF7 cannonball contest were plentiful and the contestants did not disappoint.

What better way to celebrate 15 years of mega awesome work together than a heated pop-a-shot tournament? It went down on March 14, 2011 at the Spirit of 77. Somewhere between the shots (of liquor and basketballs), we toasted the anniversary, chest-bumped and ass-slapped. Because that’s what athletes do.

Elliott Hill was a legendary leader in Nike’s Direct to Consumer division. So when he announced he was taking a new position within the company, we planned a grand celebration in Elliott’s honor at the Global Retail Summit in Santa Monica. A 5k run route ended with hundreds of Elliotts. We rolled in food carts, created custom print Elliott-ism t-shirts and dropped in a photo booth for snapshots with cutouts of the man himself.
More than 600 designers from around the world converged at the Bison Building for a day-and-night of camaraderie and creativity. Weeks in advance, carnival style games were conceived and built to entertain the masses. As evening fell, the space was transformed with music, cocktails and a collection of Portland’s finest food carts. In an adjacent space, a video exhibit played content from 50 designers, illustrating diverse styles and perspectives from all corners of the globe.
We’re rooted in the Northwest and we love it. That’s why we took a bit of the Northwest to New York. And why we built Mule Deer Cabin at the base of Mt. Hood. It’s a short drive from Portland and a world away from everyday. It’s the perfect place for creative brainstorms, weekend retreats and, of course, a cocktail or two.
